Alone we rot.
Together, we ferment.

Iggy’s Alive & Cultured is a fermentation house founded in 2012 by Ilgvar “Iggy” Daga on Bainbridge Island in Washington State. We are an artisanal producer of premium fermented beverages and foods, using only whole and organic ingredients to make our living ferments.

After 12 years of being in business, some of our very first employees are still on the floor brewing drinks and fermenting vegetables. From the beginning, everyone who has worked at Iggy’s has had the opportunity to contribute to the knowledge of systems and fermentation practices to advance the quality and character of our products and help make the business successful.

Many creative people have contributed to building a strong culture and making Iggy’s what it is today. We have endeavored to fulfill a core business value to provide meaningful employment in a holistic environment. Simultaneously, we’ve grown from this community (in Kitsap County) with support from many community members, friends and families. And where would we be without the farmers? We are grateful to all.

Iggy’s supports local agriculture and food systems. We’ve established strong working relationships with area farmers, purchasing vegetables and botanicals locally whenever possible. We buy fresh ginger and turmeric roots directly from an organic farm in Hawaii. We’ve also established relationships with tea estates and brokers, which assures that we have the highest quality teas for our brews. We strive to reduce our sourcing radius and the number of steps between us and the grower: we cultivate enduring connections with the people that in turn are deeply connected, through the art and science of agriculture, with the earth.
